Deal: Sennheiser HD 598 Cs Headphones $100 - 11/25/16

Black Friday deals just keep on coming, and while many will have perhaps already finished their spending for the weekend, there will be those that have saved the majority of their money all year for this day of the year. Those still looking for gifts to purchase for people who might be awkward - or perhaps more particular - will no doubt have thought of getting a pair of headphones. We covered a deal earlier on the $150 pair of BeyerDynamic DT880 Premium Special Edition pair, but this option from Sennheiser is cheaper, coming it at just under $100, and it's from another well-known brand in the world of audio recording as well as reproduction; Sennheiser.

The Sennheiser HD 598 Cs is another model of the classic Sennheiser HD 598 headphones that have been a staple for many listeners for years now. The only differences - aside from being a fair bit cheaper - is that these are easier to drive, thanks to a lower impedance of 23 Ohm instead of the 50 Ohm in the HD 598 - and that these are a closed-back pair. The originals are an open-back pair of headphones, which gives the pair a more spacious and lifelike sound to them, but also leaks out a lot of sound, which makes them useless for the commute as well as not annoying someone else in the room. The HD 598 Cs don't have that problem, and Sennheiser have done a great job of bringing one of their best pairs of headphones down to earth for the less-particular listener, all the while retaining the excellent reproduction that Sennheiser have become known for.
