On Monday, AT&T and DIRECTV made their cord-cutting service official, it's called DIRECTV NOW, and will be available beginning tomorrow. At launch, it's available on plenty of platforms including the Amazon Fire TV, VIZIO SmartCast TV's, LeEco's TV's as well as Android and iOS apps. To celebrate DIRECTV NOW, LeEco is offering up 3 months of the service for free when you buy the Le Pro3 or the Le S3. Both of which are already pretty low-priced smartphones. With the Le S3 costing $249, and the Le Pro3 costing $399 unlocked. That's before the LeRewards of $80 and $100 respectively. Now you'll get three months of DIRECTV NOW for free, which makes these two smartphones even more enticing.
However, if you are looking to buy a new TV, LeEco has you covered as well. If you purchase their 43-inch TV, the Super4 X43 Pro, you'll get 3 months for free of DIRECTV NOW. If you are wanting a larger TV, like the Super4 X55, or the Super4 X65, you'll get DIRECTV NOW for 6 months. If you're looking to pick up the massive uMax 85 then you'll get the service for free for a full year. That's pretty impressive, and makes the purchase of an ecotv that much more enticing.
DIRECTV NOW is launching tomorrow, November 30th and there are packages starting at just $35/month. It's arguably AT&T's most competitive offering ever. As Brad Bentley, the EVP of Marketing for AT&T Entertainment Group stated, "DIRECTV NOW has the entertainment you love, with more TV freedom designed for your lifestyle." This is basically AT&T and DIRECTV's way of getting those cord-cutters back into their company. Many have dropped cable in favor of other offerings like Sling TV, YouTube, Hulu and Netflix, and AT&T is hoping to gain them back by also cutting the cord.
This announcement from LeEco comes on the heels of them expanding the availability of their products, bringing them to Best Buy, Amazon and Target later this week. Their smartphones (called 'ecophones') and TV's (called 'ecotvs') are already very competitively priced, and they offer instant rebates on all of them. Pair that with this free trial of DIRECTV NOW, and it makes their products even more interesting.
