Lots has happened in the world of Android this past week, not the least of which included Xiaomi's event which resulted in the unveiling of two brand new smartphones. Although they're not yet available, Xiaomi officially announced the Mi Note 2 this past week, as well as the Mi MIX, a device with a large display that features almost no bezels and a pretty stunning design. Of course, smartphones weren't the only thing on Xiaomi's agenda that day, as they also revealed the Mi VR headset which comes with a controller that looks quite similar to the one that comes with the Daydream View headset from Google.
In addition to two new phones from Xiaomi, it was discovered that the Lenovo PHAB2 Pro is launching on November 1st, meaning that the very first Tango-powered smartphone is just around the corner. Huawei teased their upcoming Mate 9 smartphone this past week, and T-Mobile announced that they would be offering customers who buy the Pixel and bring it to the carrier 50% of the cost back on their device purchase through monthly bill credits. Google also announced that they were stopping their plans for Fiber in 11 potential cities where they were working with the area to get the service up and running.
