Huawei is set to take the wraps off of a new smartphone in just a couple weeks in Germany. Many are believing that it'll be the Huawei Mate 9, although that is not yet confirmed. The device actually leaked out not too long ago, giving us a good idea of how the device may look when it debuts next month. Huawei has also posted a new teaser for the event. The teaser is pretty simple, using the hashtag #AStepAhead, and then just saying that they will be having a global product launch in Munich on November 3rd. Not much else is shown here for the Huawei Mate 9, or whatever device they may be launching on that date.
The Huawei Mate lineup has been one of the more popular lineups from Huawei in recent memory. A big part of that is likely due to the Mate series sporting a large display, but also having a pretty massive battery which leads to impressive battery life. The main reason for the Mate smartphones having great battery life is the fact that Huawei has stuck to 1080p displays, instead of opting for the more pixel-dense QHD displays. The Huawei Mate 9 is expected to continue that trend with a 5.9-inch 1080p display, slightly smaller than the original Ascend Mate and Ascend Mate 2, as well as the Mate 7 and Mate 8.
Other specs for the Huawei Mate 9 include the Kirin 960 processor, which is slated to be announced this month actually. Along with variants sporting RAM and storage configurations up to 6GB and 256GB respectively. That's pretty impressive, in fact the only other smartphone with 256GB of storage right now is the iPhone 7/iPhone 7 Plus. It's also rumored that Huawei will be sticking with the dual camera setup on the back, but instead of using two 12-megapixel cameras, we'll be seeing a 20-megapixel shooter alongside the 12-megapixel sensor.
The Huawei Mate 9 is going to have some pretty big shoes to fill, especially with how the Galaxy Note 7 ended up. One thing is for sure, we'll find out everything about the device come November 3rd. So make sure to tune in, to find out all the details!
