UMi Says iPhone 7 Costs Too Much, New UMi Plus Video Is Out

UMi is a China-based company we’ve talked about a number of times thus far. This company had introduced quite a few compelling devices in the last year or so, we’ve recently reviewed the UMi Super, which turned out to be a really compelling phone, and the company had recently announced that the UMi Plus is on the way. Now, the UMi Plus is, much like the UMi Super, a metal-clad smartphone which comes with a really compelling spec sheet, while its price is quite low. That being said, the company has just introduced a new promo video for the UMi Plus, while they’ve also briefly mentioned Apple on the side, read on.

If you take a look at the embedded video down below, you’ll get to see UMi’s new promo video. The company shows off UMi Plus’ design in this video, and even though this is a familiar design, the company wanted to make sure you know that the device is made out of 6000 series aluminum alloy, which makes it quite sturdy. As you can see, the home button is placed below the display, and the phone looks quite sleek, despite the fact this is quite a familiar design. Now, in addition to this UMi Plus video, UMi reached out to say that they really don’t think that the iPhone 7 is worth 4 UMi Super smartphones. As some of you might know, Apple’s iPhone 7 is four times more expensive than the UMi Super, so the company just wanted to make sure you’re aware there are more affordable alternatives out there.

The UMi Plus was introduced a couple of days ago, and aside from the metal build, it ships with a 5.5-inch fullHD panel, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. This smartphone is fueled by the Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor, which is MediaTek’s SoC. The 13-megapixel shooter is placed on the back of this phone, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this smartphone, along with some of UMi’s apps and gestures. This is a dual-SIM smartphone which comes with 4G LTE connectivity, in case you were wondering. The phone is currently available for pre-order for $179.99, while it will cost $249.99 once it goes on sale.
