Tile Slim Bluetooth Tracker Launches In Even-Slimmer Body

Tile is releasing a new Bluetooth-powered tracking device called "Tile Slim", and as the moniker suggests, the second Tile is supposed to have a slimmer form factor for easier handling and carrying compared to the original model. The product is now available for purchase from the manufacturer’s official website, where customers can choose between buying one Tile Slim for the price of $30, or a 4-pack bundle for 17% off, or a total of $100 down from $120.

For readers who may be wondering, Tile Slim is a Bluetooth tracker designed to fit in the wearer’s wallet and act as a tracking device to help users find their belongings in case they have misplaced them. Simply connect the Tile Slim to a compatible smartphone, and use the companion app to find the location of the Tile when in need, or use the Tile itself to find your smartphone in case you’ve misplaced it. In other words, the basic principle works the same as on the original Tile, but the first model was considered a bit too thick to fit in a wallet comfortably. The Tile Slim is evidently slimmer, and compared to the previous model, it has a profile measuring only 2.4 millimeters as opposed to 5.3 millimeters. On the other hand, the overall footprint is also slightly larger, measuring 54 x 54 millimeters, whereas the first Tile measured 37 x 37 millimeters. Nevertheless, a thinner profile makes the Tile Slim easier to carry, regardless of the overall dimensions being slightly larger. Otherwise, the Tile Slim weighs only 9.3 grams, it is water resistant up to IP5 standards, it connects through Bluetooth LE, and has a non-removable battery which should provide juice for at least one year of usability from shipment. So what happens once the battery runs out? Well, at the end of the year when the unit is depleted, users can choose to renew their Tile through the reTile program.

The Tile Slim is compatible with the OnePlus One, the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the HTC One and One M8, the Motorola Moto X, and the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and Nexus 6. Prospective buyers can choose to buy one Tile Slim for $30, or a package of 4 Tiles for the reduced price of $100. They may also be interested in keeping an eye on offers from other retailers including Amazon, who recently offered the Tile Slim for the discounted price of $25.
