Samsung's Upcoming High-End Flip Phone Hits GFXBench

Quite a few of you who are reading this probably owned a flip phone at one point or another, depending on how old you are. Flip phone cellphones were quite popular back in the day, though that form factor faded away once smartphones came to play. That being said, companies like Samsung are still pushing that form factor, well, to an extent, this Korea-based tech giant tends to release a couple of flip phone smartphones a year. The company had introduced the Galaxy Folder 2 entry-level flip phone smartphone quite recently, and their high-end Samsung SM-W2017 (codenamed ‘Veyron’) flip phone smartphone has been leaking for months now. That being said, we’ve seen tons of images of this device, and its specs had leaked on both AnTuTu and Geekbench last month. Having that in mind, the device has just surfaced on GFXBench as well, read on.

The Samsung SM-W2017 has surfaced on GFXBench, and shared its specs with the public. This is, of course, not a full spec sheet, but the most important specs are here, and they basically reveal what can we expect out of this phone. According to the source, the Samsung SM-W2017 will sport a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080), when in fact, we’re expecting to see a 4.2-inch panel on this device, so it is possible that this particular piece of info is not all that accurate. The phone will ship with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor, along with the Adreno 530 GPU. The 12-megapixel rear-facing camera will be included here, and chances are this is the same sensor Samsung had utilized in the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and the Galaxy Note 7. The 5-megapixel shooter will be placed on the front side of this handset, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this phone, while Samsung’s custom UI will be available on top of it.

In addition to all this, the Samsung SM-W2017 is expected to sport a fingerprint scanner, an Always-On display, and a 2,000mAh battery. Quick charging will quite probably also be available here, even though this is small battery pack as it is. The Samsung SM-W2017 is expected to launch soon, and as soon as that happens, we’ll let you know.
