The LG V20 is one of the most unique smartphones this year. This phablet was introduced earlier this month, and it’s a direct successor to the LG V10 which had been introduced a year ago. The LG V20 is quite a large smartphone, and its main feature is the secondary ‘ticker’ display which is placed above the main panel. This display acts as a separate panel, and is turned on at all times, which gives you a nice place to put your application shortcuts or something of the sort. That being said, we did review this smartphone already, but the phone is still not available for purchase. Well, that’s about to change soon, read on.
LG has just announced that the LG V20 will go on sale in its homeland, South Korea, soon. The company has announced that the phone will go on sale in South Korea this week, and other key markets (North America, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East) will follow in the next several weeks. In addition to this, LG has said that the pricing and availability for the device will be announced locally in each market as the device launches, so stay tuned for that. In addition to all this, the company has released yet another promo video for the LG V20, it is embedded down below. The LG V20 has plenty more to offer aside from the secondary display, as this handset is quite capable in the audio department, it not only records Hi-Fi audio, but also supports optical playback with its Hi-Fi Quad DAC which minimizes distortion and noise. The device also comes with an HD Audio Recorder, which is quite a useful feature.
The LG V20 is actually a high-end smartphone, and LG’s second flagship this year. This device sports a 5.7-inch QHD display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor, and a 3,200mAh battery is also a part of this package. This battery is removable, and the phone sports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging tech. There are two camera sensors (13 and 8-megapixel ones) placed on the back of this device, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found on the phone’s front side. Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed on the LG V20, while you’ll find LG’s UX 5.0 on top of it. The LG V20 also sports a fingerprint scanner on the back, and the device is made out of metal.
