He-Man: Tappers of Grayskull Launches On Google Play

Earlier this week, Moon Quest developer Animoca Brands launched a mobile game based on the popular superhero He-Man. Titled 'He-Man: Tappers of Grayskull', this free-to-play action RPG promises hours of addictive gameplay centered around yet another story of Skeletor's evil plans that are bound to get messed up by one of the strongest blondes ever imagined. The game begins with Skeletor discovering a magical stone which can turn any being into a giant. Not surprisingly, the villain has less-than-noble plans for the stone and it's up to He-Man and the masters to stop him.

Even if you weren't a fan of the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series, Tappers of Grayskull may still offer enough entertainment to be worth downloading. The increasingly popular tap-to-attack system featured in this game is ennobled with some simple action RPG mechanics and is easy to understand but hard to master. Apart from relentless tapping, the game also requires a bit of strategic thinking as not all enemies are equally vulnerable to all forms of attacks. In addition to He-Man, Tappers of Grayskull also offers 20 more playable allies, all of which will be familiar to fans of the franchise. Apart from beating up gigantic bosses, players can also collect ancient artifacts and upgrade their party to form an even more formidable offense. Vanilla version of the game features 12 locations and dozens of various enemies. While all of the content is seemingly accessible for free, Tappers of Grayskull also offers several microtransactions designed to speed up players' progress. As for other free-to-play conventions, the game also features a dual-currency system.

The fights in He-Man: Tappers of Grayskull aren't terribly long which means that the app is more than suitable for playing on the go. You can check them out in action by watching the trailer below. All in all, the game doesn't seem to break any particular genre conventions but it's pretty well-designed and polished. It remains to be seen whether that will be enough for worldwide success but fans of simple mobile RPGs will definitely feel right at home with He-Man: Tappers of Grayskull. As for those looking for more similar Android titles, there are plenty of amazing superhero games on the Play Store to choose from.
