Download: Google Maps Beta v9.38 With 'Upcoming Tab' & More

The Google Maps Android app is one of the best navigation apps available on Android, many would say the best one, actually. Google does a great job of keeping this app updated, while the company also keeps on pushing new features to the app through frequent updates. That being said, one such update just landed to the Google Maps beta app, as the company has decided to update the app to v9.38, which brings along a couple of new, interesting features. That being said, let’s see what’s new here, shall we.

There are two main new features that Google has added here, first is the new tab which contains a list of upcoming events, bookings and reservations. This tab is located in ‘Your places’ screen, and it is called ‘Upcoming’. The list that this menu provides will be heavily based on the information the app gets from your Calendar and Gmail apps, in other words, it will take info from the accounts that you’re using on your Android smartphone. We’ll know more about this feature in the near future, as not all details are known at the moment. Now, the other new feature is a dedicated album for pictures of food. Google has basically added a new album for photos of food for each restaurant, just in case you’re wondering what you’ll find in a specific place, so that you can decide what to order before you even get there. All you have to do is tap on a photo and you’ll get a scrollable list of various dishes that are available at a select restaurant.

That is pretty much it, these are the only two new features that have been added in this update, and even though these additions aren’t exactly all that important, they can be quite useful in certain scenarios, that’s for sure, especially if the ‘Upcoming’ tab ends up working as we think it will. Now, as already mentioned, this is a beta version of the app, so keep that in mind. If you’d like to download the APK file and sideload it to your device, all you have to do is click on the banner down below which will take you directly to the download screen.
