BLU Vivo 5R with 5.5" Curved Display Hits Amazon for $199

BLU is still a rather small smartphone manufacturer, although they have been making a pretty big impact on the unlocked smartphone market in the past few years. They offer many smartphones in all sorts of price points. The latest in their lineup is the Vivo 5R. This is a 5.5-inch smartphone that has some pretty respectable specs, to be honest. BLU has a 5.5-inch curved display here that features a 1080p resolution. It's powered by the MediaTek MT6753 processor along with 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage, along with a micro SD card slot that BLU says can support up to an additional 64GB of storage. This is all powered by a 3150mAh battery.

When it comes to optics, BLU didn't cut any corners. Placing the Sony IMX258 sensor on the backside. This is a 13-megapixel sensor featuring an aperture of f/2.0. It also has phase detection auto-focus, giving you some quick auto-focusing when you need it most. The front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel sensor and it does have a flash. Allowing you to get that selfie even when you're in low-light. The camera has all sorts of modes included like Smart Scene, Professional, HDR, Smart Scan, GIF and many others. Allowing you to really have some fun with this camera on this smartphone.

That's not all that the BLU Vivo 5R is packing either. It also sports a rear fingerprint scanner. Allowing you to keep your smartphone nice and secure. Since it is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you do also have the ability to use the fingerprint scanner to log into apps and authenticate purchases on the Google Play Store. It is an aluminum smartphone, and probably the only one you'll find in this price range. The BLU Vivo 5R does have support for 4G LTE on both T-Mobile and AT&T in the US. It works fully on both GSM carriers, however it will not work on CDMA carriers like Sprint and Verizon. You can pre-order the BLU Vivo 5R from Amazon today. It's due to start shipping around September 21st. It is available in gray with a black front and gold with a white front.
