A Belkin USB-C Car Charger Arrives in the Google Store

Google has fully adopted USB-C or USB Type-C, with some manufacturers following their lead, USB-C is still a very new standard. But it is great to see more and more products supporting this standard. There are many accessories already available that support USB-C, and today, Google added one of those accessories to the Google Store. This time it's from Belkin. It's a USB-C car charger and it'll cost you $45. Which may seem a bit much for a car charger, and that's because it is. Accessories sold in the Google Store are typically a bit more expensive than you'd find over on Amazon or many other places. It's not known why that is, however.

In the box, you'll find the car charger, as well as a USB-C to USB-C cable. Google lists that it supports the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Pixel C and the Chromebook Pixel. That is all of their devices that support USB-C. But don't forget that it'll work perfectly fine with the HTC 10, Samsung Galaxy Note 7, LG G5, LG V20, and even the new Sony Xperia XZ that was announced earlier this month in Berlin. If, perhaps, you use Apple products, the 12-inch Apple MacBook will also work perfectly fine with this car charger. Which makes it a pretty impressive car charger, to be honest. Being able to charge your laptop, or Chromebook Pixel from the car is pretty neat.

USB Type-C is what the industry appears to be moving towards, and leaving USB Type-A and even micro USB in the dust. USB Type-C features all sorts of advantages over micro USB and USB Type-A, like the fact that it is truly reversible. Additionally, it does also sport faster read and write speeds. Making it great for not only mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, but also for laptops and desktop computers. USB-C is being used in more and more smartphones, and is forcing many of us to buy new accessories. Since our current car chargers, wall adapters and even portable battery packs are not compatible with the new standard (unless of course you've bought a new one recently). There are other options for USB-C car chargers, but if you do like this Belkin model here, you can grab it from the link below.
