Wrap-Up: Samsung Galaxy Note 7, Everything You Need to Know!

If you were anywhere near the internet today, you likely heard about the launch of Samsung's new phone, the Galaxy Note 7. Earlier this morning Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 7 at their Unpacked event in New York, alongside the unveiling of the brand new Gear VR headset that was designed to fit the Galaxy Note 7 as it comes with a USB Type-C port. Samsung didn't just announce these two new devices, though, as they also showcased a varied line of accessories for the new phone as well as announced the official pricing and availability of the Gear Icon X wireless activity tracking earbuds that were announced back in the beginning of June.

If the Gear Icon X are more of what interest you, those will be hitting store shelves in the middle of this month, on August 15th just a few days before the Galaxy Note 7 officially goes on sale, and they will end up costing $199, available in Black, White, and Blue. While not all carriers or retailers have announced pricing for the Galaxy Note 7, the device will end up costing $849 in the U.S. at some locations although the pricing may be different at some carriers, while customers in Canada will pay either $1,049.99 or $549.99 depending on if they choose a two-year term or no term pricing. Bell subscribers in Canada will also get promotional freebies, as Galaxy Note 7 buyers can choose to take home a Gear Fit2 or a Samsung Level Box Pro wireless speaker at no charge, while also being able to buy the Gear VR at $49, and save $200 on the Galaxy Note 7 if they trade in an old device.

Multiple Vulkan-ready games will be pre-loaded onto the Galaxy Note 7 for those who enjoy their mobile gaming, and the device comes with 15GB of Samsung Cloud storage for anyone who needs a little extra space for stuff that won't be stored on the device or expandable storage. Galaxy Note 7 buyers will be happy to know that the device and the S Pen are both IP68 rated, meaning that they're water and dust resistant, and of course the talk of the town in regards to device features will be the all new iris scanner that was integrated with the phone.
