While it seems there is finally a confirmation on the fact that a new smartwatch from Samsung is coming in the form of the Gear S3 Classic, as well as a potential "Explorer" variation, there is still very little detail known about the next-gen smartwatch that is to succeed the popular Gear S2 models. It's also speculated that the Gear S3 will end up making an appearance at the upcoming IFA conference in Berlin, Germany, as they recently sent out information and details on their event, with an invite image that depicts the hands of a watch face.
Other than the existence of the press conference at IFA as well as the picture on the invite, there wasn't much information about the press conference, although it is listed for September 1st at 5AM EST. With that said, it was already rumored that Samsung would be unveiling the Gear S3 at IFA and that the new version of their signature smartwatch will feature the rotating bezel just as the Gear S2 did. It's also rumored to have a collective of new sport-like features which could cater more to active-lifestyle enthusiasts, such as an improved barometer and the ability to track your speed with a newly included speedometer, which, will reportedly use the GPS to help display the correct speed for running and cycling activities. There could also be an altimeter included. While none of this is official just yet, it does certainly sound like a more exciting smartwatch from Samsung. Are you looking forward to the Gear S3?
