The Xiaomi Mi 5 might be the company's best-known smartphone at the moment, but their Redmi-branded phones are the most popular ones in terms of sales. Xiaomi sells tons of Redmi-branded devices a year, mostly because they're quite affordable, and yet offer great build and solid specs. The Redmi 3 launched at the beginning of this year, and the Redmi 4 has been leaking out for months now. The device got certified by TENAA (China's equivalent to the FCC) quite recently, we reported on it earlier today, and it's Redmi Note 4's turn it seems, read on.
The Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4's larger sibling, also got certified by TENAA in China. As you probably already know, this is one of the last steps before a device hits the market, so we can expect Xiaomi to unveil both of these phones soon. August 25th has been mentioned as the possible launch date for the Redmi 4, and it seems like the Redmi Note 4 could arrive alongside its smaller brother. Anyhow, according to TENAA, the Redmi Note 4 will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 64GB of expandable internal storage. The device will be fueled by a deca-core SoC, says TENAA, which is quite interesting. This means that it won't sport the same SoC as the Redmi 4 (Snapdragon 625), but will be fueled by MediaTek's Helio X20 or X25 SoC which will be clocked at 2GHz. The 13-megapixel snapper will be placed on the back of the Redmi Note 4, and a 5-megapixel unit will be placed on the phone's front side. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come out of the box here, and on top of Google's operating system you'll be able to find Xiaomi's MIUI 8 Android-based OS.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will ship with a 4,000mAh battery, just like its sibling, and that battery will not be removable. 4G LTE connectivity will also be included on this device, and the phone will, presumably, going to be made out of metal. You can also expect to see the fingerprint scanner on the back of this phone, and three capacitive buttons below its display, while the phone in general will quite probably resemble the Redmi 4. Moreover, it is possible these two devices will be almost identical, as size might be the only difference between the two. The Redmi Note 4 will come in Gray, Gold and Silver color variants, while it will measure 151 x 76.3 x 8.54mm, and weight 177 grams.
