Galaxy Note 7 Specs & New Images Surface Prior To Launch

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 phablet is definitely one of the most anticipated devices this year, and luckily for those of you who are interested in purchasing this handset, it will be announced later today. Samsung will introduce their new flagship phablet during the press conference / Unpacked event which kicks off at 8AM PST / 11AM EST on August 2nd. We’ve seen tons of leaks and rumors when it comes to the Galaxy Note 7, a couple of clear real life images of this phablet leaked recently, and now two new leaks surfaced, sharing not only new real life images of the phone, but also its specifications, read on.

Let’s kick things off with the specs of the Galaxy Note 7, shall we. If you take a look at the second image in the gallery down below, you’ll get to see what seems to be a spec sheet of the Galaxy Note 7, and it is placed on the back of the Note 7’s retail packaging. According to this info, the Galaxy Note 7 will be fueled by a 64-bit octa-core SoC, we’re probably looking at the Exynos 8890 here, though a Snapdragon 821-powered variant is also a possibility (in certain regions). The display size is not mentioned here, but the Galaxy Note 7 will, almost certainly, going to ship with a 5.7-inch panel. The display size is listed in millimeters, which seems odd, but when you convert 143.9mm to inches, you get a 5.67-inch display, though we’re almost sure Samsung will market it as a 5.7-inch panel. That display will sport a QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, and we’re looking at a Super AMOLED panel here, of course. The Galaxy Note 7 will ship with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while you will almost certainly going to be able to expand its storage by inserting a microSD card up to 256GB, just like on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The 12-megapixel ‘Dual Pixel’ camera will be placed on the back of the device, while a 5-megapixel snapper will be available up front.

In addition to all this, the device will be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while it will be equipped with KNOX security as well. The packaging also mentioned that 4G LTE connectivity (LTE-A) will be available here as well (3-Band Cat.12). If you take a look at the rest of the images, you’ll get to see the Galaxy Note 7 in the flesh. The phone resembles the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge quite a bit, it sports the ‘Dual Edge’ display, though its sides are not nearly as curved as they are on the Galaxy S7 Edge. The physical home button is placed below the display, and it will double as a fingerprint scanner, of course.
