The BlackBerry Priv was BlackBerry's first Android-powered smartphone and was released last fall. When it was released, many were excited about the device, but less so about its price tag. Now that its been out for nearly a year, the prices have really fallen on the Priv, and right now eBay is offering up a brand new BlackBerry Priv for just $299. That's the same price as their new DTEK50 which is much more of a mid-range device than the Priv is. So if you've been looking to get your hands on a BlackBerry device running Android, now might be the right time.
If you need more reasons to pick up the Priv, consider this. BlackBerry has continuously pushed out updates to the Priv each month, with the latest security patches from Google. In fact, some months they have even beaten Google to rolling them out. So if you were worried about the Priv not getting an update, don't, BlackBerry has been great with pushing them out. Of course it helps that they only have two smartphones running Android right now, compared to companies like Samsung, LG and HTC who have many, many more. The Priv is also running virtually stock Android with some of BlackBerry's security software on top and under-the-hood.
