LeEco keeps expanding its portfolio with new products, and although the most recent major unveiling from the company revolved around a series of smart TVs, there are numerous reports to suggest that LeEco is also planning to release more smartphones by the end of the year. One of these devices is expected to succeed the LeEco Le Max 2 flagship in the coming months and surpass the aforementioned model in terms of specs and features. It could also present a more refined design with thinner bezels and a slicker profile, at least according to a new series of leaked concept renders depicting a rather futuristic handset.
The images showcased above and below were leaked earlier today and, according to the source, they depict a concept design for LeEco's upcoming flagship phone. This means that the final product will most likely have a different overall look, and won't be as impressive as shown in these images. The concept has virtually no bezels at the top and sides, and even the earpiece grill at the top seems to be part of the display. It also lacks a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack and any type of physical buttons, but accommodates a couple of speaker grilles on the bottom edge, flanking a USB Type-C connector. The concept's back panel is very clean and presents only the LeEco logo near the bottom, along with a dual-camera setup coupled with an LED flash at the top. By the looks of it, the handset was envisioned in a full metal chassis with a very thin profile and a bezel-less display with a screen-to-body ratio that could overshadow even the Sharp Aquos Crystal 2. Then again, assuming that this particular flagship is the same as the one that leaked last month in a handful of live images, it's quite obvious that the final product won't look anything like the concept design. It may have a dual-camera setup as seen in the previous leaked live photos, but that's where the similarities end. Still, it's interesting to see how LeEco envisions its future products, and in theory, the company seems to aim big.
Now, regardless of how LeEco's upcoming flagship will look like, rumors claim that it could sport a 2K display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 system-on-chip, and 4 GB of RAM. In contrast, the LeEco Le Max 2 features a Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4 GB of RAM, with a beefed-up variant sporting 6 GB of RAM already landing in specific regions.
