The Galaxy S6 Edge and S7 Edge have been really successful devices for Samsung. These two smartphones have been selling like crazy last and this year, respectively, and as you probably already know, both of these devices have curved display sides. Now, it seems like Samsung managed to inspire some other smartphone manufacturers to release their very own curved display smartphones along the way, Vivo had introduced the XPlay 5 handset earlier this year, and if rumors are to be believed, a number of other China-based companies will do the same thing.

We've seen more than one rumor thus far stating that Xiaomi, Meizu, and a number of other companies are working on their very own curved display smartphones, and a China-based analyst just shared some additional info regarding all that. Kevin Wang is a director of China Research at iSuppli, and he recently stated that Huawei, Xiaomi, Gionee, Meizu and OPPO are planning to release handsets using curved displays. Now, these devices are expected to be more affordable than the competition, both Samsung's and Vivo's devices, but they are probably going to be more expensive than what we're used to seeing from the aforementioned companies. These are going to be high-end devices, as you might have guessed, and even though Kevin Wang did not really share any availability info for these phones, we do expect more than one such device to land before the end of this year. Kevin Wang might not be in the position to confirm that such devices are coming, but he's a well-respected analyst in China and not nearly the first person who stated that the aforementioned companies are getting ready for such a feat.

Xiaomi's curved display smartphone has been rumored earlier this year, but we haven't heard much about it for a while now. Meizu is, allegedly, working on such a smartphone, and it will be called either the PRO 7 or it will be a part of the all-new Meizu lineup, the 'E' line of smartphones. As far as Huawei, OPPO and Gionee are concerned, we really don't have any specific info at the moment.
