Video: Pokemon GO 101 - Tips and Tricks for How to Play

Pokemon GO has been all the rage with mobile gamers since its launch just last week, quickly eclipsing even the most popular apps on the market by quite a considerable margin.  This record download rate is seeing throughput so high that it was being used by more people than apps like Spotify, WhatsApp and Hangouts in a single day, although time will tell if this feverish pace can be sustained.  While millions of people have been downloading it, that doesn't actually mean that people understand how to play or what's going on in the game.  Set in real world locations and utilizing that built-in GPS sensor within your phone, Pokemon GO puts users in the shoes of a junior Pokemon trainer set out to take the world by storm, and of course to catch 'em all.

Pokemon GO has a lot in common with classic Nintendo games, and that's not to just say that it's a collect-a-thon, but also that it doesn't necessarily do a great job of teaching users how to play the game past the most basic initial details.  While this may be a design aimed to keep users interacting socially and asking questions, we though it would be nice to help jump start users with this quick video on how to get the most out of your initial Pokemon GO experience.  Confused about how to catch Pokemon, how to collect Pokeballs or evolve and battle those cute little critters?  We go over some important basic steps to take when out there in the real world, but of course we can't cover everything, like basic safety tips to avoid real-world problems.

Hit us up on your favorite social network and let us know what kinds of Pokemon you found, and any other interesting tidbits you might have found out about the game.  Check out our video below and don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!  We've always got tons of reviews, features and comparisons between phones and other devices that are worth your while, and by subscribing you'll be the first to know about new stuff.
