Top 10: Android News Stories, July 24th 2016

As we head into the month of August and come up on August 2nd, the date for Samsung's next Unpacked event, it gets closer and closer to the announcement of the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 7. With it being so close to the unveiling, more and more leaks and rumors surrounding the device have started to surface, something which typically happens when a phone launch is near. This past week, rumors began to pop up that T-Mobile would begin to start the pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 7 sometime in the week ahead. The Galaxy Note 7 also showed up in a couple of leaks, including a leaked batch of press renders of the device which showcase a new gold color that had not been seen before, as well as a leaked video of the Galaxy Note 7's iris scanner being used, and working rather quickly.

Two more Galaxy Note 7 leaks also surfaced in addition to the two previously mentioned. Although it may never see the light of day, a leak of what appeared to be a prototype Galaxy Note 7 with a flat screen showed up early last week, while another press render leaked showcasing the Galaxy Note 7's S Pen. One of the new Nexus devices also leaked, as an alleged live image of the device codenamed "Marlin" seemed to showcase that is was running Android Nougat.
