Rumor: Galaxy Note 7 Pre-Orders Launching on August 2nd

Earlier this week, Samsung began sending out invites to their August 2nd Unpacked event in New York City. As was teased on the invite, the Galaxy Note 7 will be announced at this event. However, Samsung did not mention when the device would be available for pre-order. That's quite normal for invites though. Simply tease what will be announced, and that's about it. So no real surprises there. However, a rumor surfacing today shows that the Galaxy Note 7 will be going up for pre-order shortly after the event. Samsung did something similar with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge earlier this year.

As usual, this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, given that this came from the Dutch website, GalaxyClub, it is possible that this is for Europe. However, it would be surprising to see that pre-orders opened in Europe the day that the Galaxy Note 7 was announced, and it not open in North America and Samsung's homeland of South Korea. Considering most of their devices are available in South Korea before the rest of the world. Additionally, North America and South Korea are their biggest markets. If Samsung does plan to open pre-orders the same day, they will mention it during the keynote at Unpacked, as usual. Meaning that it won't be long before we know when pre-orders open up, and more importantly, how much the Galaxy Note 7 will cost.

Rumors have speculated that the Galaxy Note 7 will cost more than the previous Galaxy Note devices have. Typically the Galaxy Note smartphones are priced higher than the Galaxy S series, this is due in part to the S Pen and other added features that the Galaxy Note line brings, as opposed to the Galaxy S lineup. Not to mention the premium build quality that Samsung has been using in 2015 and now in 2016. When it comes to specs, it's looking like the Galaxy Note 7 will be sporting a 5.8-inch 2560x1440 Super AMOLED display, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or 821 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and at least 32GB of internal storage. There is also talk of 64GB and 128GB models being available. The Galaxy Note 7 is looking to be the best smartphone of 2016, and that's what many have come to expect from Samsung in recent years.
