Pokemon GO Players Inevitably Create NSFW Photos

The idea, the promise of Pokemon GO, captivated imaginations around the world long before the game or its predecessors were even ideas. People loved the idea of walking around their neighborhood and seeing wild Pokemon that they could interact with and even pose for pictures with. When Pokemon GO released, much like with Miitomo, pictures of all sorts started showing up. Photos running the gamut from silly to downright beautiful found their way onto the internet in fairly short order. People were posing with Pokemon out on hikes, in cool locations and even inviting them into their homes. Naturally, one would figure that photos of a more risque nature would be part of the equation sooner or later, and that is apparently exactly what has happened.

While some are content to show off casual Pokemon encounters during casual encounters of a different nature, it didn't take long for Diglett to find its niche in the new photo trend, for obvious reasons. Other Pokemon out there may lend themselves to double entendre, adding fuel to the fire. Pictures of all sorts are fair game, ranging from using Pokemon for creative censorship to much more explicit ones where the Pokemon are made to appear to be in on the action, or simply stand by the sidelines. Most of that territory is actually covered on a Reddit page, or subreddit, dedicated to just that sort of photo, called "Pokemon GO NSFW". Other outlets where one may expect to find a mix of kid-friendly and non kid-friendly content also play host to a number of pictures, including some NSFW memes.

While this development may leave some shaking their heads, most should be none too shocked. As with just about any app or device that features a camera in some way, this sort of thing was bound to happen at some point. As with any other development of this sort, of course, it only goes to prove that just about any age group and just about any interest can find joy in some things, and Pokemon GO is one of those things. When an app can be enjoyed just as readily by parents and children as by couples in the privacy of their home, the term "universal appeal" is quite appropriate.
