Here's What You Get When you Hit Level 30 in Pokemon GO

While Pokemon GO did launch almost two weeks ago now, many players have been leveling up, but not quite as fast as this Redditor, Verigood. On Sunday, he posted screenshots on Reddit, showing what you get when you get to Level 30 on the game. And things do get pretty intense. When you hit Level 30 you get 30 Ultra Balls, 20 Max Potion, 20 Max Revive, 20 Razz Berry, 3 Incense, 3 Lucky Egg, 3 Egg Incubator, and 3 Lure Modules. When Verigood posted this on Reddit, many other users were interested in how he got to that level, as well as how much XP (experience points) were needed and so forth. So within the thread, he answered many of the questions. Needless to say, he used a lot of Lucky Eggs to get to Level 30 so quickly.

One of the interesting things here is that, going from Level 29 to Level 30 took 350,000 XP, while leveling up to 31 is going to require 500,000 XP. So it’s safe to say he won’t be hitting level 31 today, without spending a ton on in-app purchases within the game. Additionally, Pokemon are harder to catch, the more you level up - he stated that you will usually need at least 4 to 6 Pokeballs to catch a Pokemon at level 30. And Pokemon are also a bit stronger in the wild, than when you’re a lower level trainer. While many assumed that Verigood may have a full Pokedex, he only has 121 of the 151 Pokemon. So there’s still a few more left to catch.

This shows us that even when you hit level 30 in Pokemon GO, there’s still so much further to go. Currently there are 151 Pokemon in the game, but if you’re a fan of Pokemon then you know there are 721 in the series. It also makes sense that the Pokemon are more difficult to catch, the more experienced you are. Making the game a bit more difficult and it’ll keep Pokemon Trainers coming back for more. Something that Niantic had trouble with Ingress, seeing as the levels were capped pretty low.

Niantic has plenty of plans for Pokemon GO, although their first priority is making it available in as many countries as possible. But we may see all 721 Pokemon available over the next few months and years.
