SanDisk Debuts New USB Type-C Flash Drive at Computex 2016

With USB Type-C rapidly becoming the new standard in a variety of devices from smartphones to tablets to laptops and much more. It's great to see more USB Type-C products coming to market. SanDisk has announced a new line of USB Type-C flash drives at Computex, which is taking place this week in Taipei. These new flash drives feature faster read/write speeds, a new retractable design, and higher capacity. These new flash drives come in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage capacities. These flash drives are now available at Amazon, and other retailers.

SanDisk's product marketing vice president, Dinesh Bahal said in a prepared statement that "with its reversible connector, impressive speeds, and multi-purpose potential, USB Type-C is a game-changer. More Type-C devices are entering the market and through our Type-C mobile drives, we can offer consumers a complete line of multiple storage solutions. The new SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C flash drive now provides more than twit the capacity and offers the flexibility to quickly and conveniently move photos, videos and files between devices."

In addition to having one USB Type-C connector, there is also a USB Type-A connector which allows you to use this flash drive with devices that may not have USB Type-C. This includes most laptops and desktops that are currently being sold. These flash drives use USB 3.1 connectivity, so you'll be experiencing some pretty fast speeds with these flash drives. SanDisk quotes speeds of around 150MB/s, allowing users to transfer videos, photos and other files quickly from a laptop or mobile device on over to their flash drive. The new SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C flash drive is compatible with Android, using the SanDisk Memory Zone app which is available on the Google Play store. Allowing you to easily plug in the flash drive to a USB Type-C device like the Nexus 6P, LG G5 or HTC 10 and gain plenty of extra storage.

SanDisk is offering up a five-year warranty with these new flash drives. As mentioned, these flash drives are now available at Amazon and other retailers right now. Pricing starts at $19.99 for the 16GB model, $29.99 for 32GB, $39.99 for the 64GB and $69.99 for the 128GB model.
