Oukitel is a China-based smartphone manufacturing company many of you have probably never heard of. This company mainly releases big battery smartphones, like the Oukitel K4000, K6000 and K10000 we've already reviewed. These three phones come with 4,000mAh, 6,000mAh and 10,000mAh battery packs, respectively, though big battery smartphones are not the only products Oukitel tends to release. Having that in mind, the company has just released their new affordable smartwatch, the Oukitel A58, let's see what it has to offer, shall we.
The Oukitel A58 is a really, really affordable smartwatch, this device is already available for pre-order for $39.99. This watch features a 1.61-inch (320 x 256) IPS ECG display, and it has a built-in speaker. The heart-rate sensor is also built into this watch, and so is Bluetooth 4.0. The watch is fueled by MediaTek's MTK2502 processor, and ships with 128MB of RAM and 64MB of internal storage. The watch is waterproof, and it is made out of metal, as you can see in the images down below. The watch ships with a leather wristband, and as you might have guessed, this smartwatch does not ship with Android, but a third-party operating system. The watch is, however, compatible with both Android (4.4+) and iOS (7.0), which is good to know. The 280mAh battery is also a part of this package, and Oukitel says that the battery can last up to 120 hours on standby. The watch has a number of built-in software features, like the remote camera shutter, music control, alarm, calendar, weather, etc.
As you can see in the images down below, this smartwatch actually looks more like a regular watch. It is a tall form factor, and the dial is placed on its right-hand side. Its display is well protected (sapphire screen it seems), and for those of you who like classic watches, this might be the way to go. Truth be told, Oukitel A58 is one of many smartwatches coming from China which don't ship with Android Wear, but if you don't care about the OS and are just looking for a smartwatch which will push notifications your way and has a number of other options without support for apps from the Google Play Store, the Oukitel A58 is one of the cheaper solutions out there.
