Motorola Moto G4 Plus Now Available on Amazon US

Ever since the original Moto G was released back in 2013, Motorola have been the only company to beat when it comes to offering budget smartphones. Now an established line of devices, the Moto G line has, every year since the original, offered some of the best value for money in the smartphone world. This year was no different, but the way that the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus were announced, was a little different. They were announced earlier this year in India, and despite Lenovo Tech World being held not too long after the Indian launch of the Moto G4, there has still been no mention of an official launch in the United States. Unsurprisingly, this hasn't stopped resellers from getting their hands on the Moto G4 Plus to list on Amazon.

For $339.99, users desperate for the Moto G4 Plus can get their hands on the 5.5-inch Full HD device from Amazon seller, Mobiles International LLC. This is for – in either Black or White – the XT1642 model of the Moto G4 Plus, which features 16GB of built-in storage as well as 2GB of RAM. Under-the-hood of the Moto G4 Plus is a Snapdragon 617 octa-core CPU with an Adreno 405 GPU, a chip that is quite a bit further down the ladder than say, the Snapdragon 820 inside of the OnePlus 3. Speaking of which, the OnePlus 3 is easily the Moto G4 Plus' direct competition, at least when looking at the price of this unofficial sale, at least. If that's the case, then for $399.99, the OnePlus 3 offers a lot more, including an AMOLED display, a much faster Snapdragon 820 as well as a whopping 6GB of RAM. We found a lot to like about the OnePlus 3, regardless of its price.

Of course, there is a certain charm to the Moto devices from Motorola, even if their new parent, Lenovo, seems to be doing things a little differently than before. It's important to remember that this is not an official listing from either Lenovo or Motorola, and while it should work just fine on the majority of GSM networks (band information is in the Amazon listing linked below) it won't work on Sprint or Verizon, and this $340 price tag might be way over the mark when it officially launches – hopefully – later this year.

For years now I've had a heavy interest in technology, growing up with 8-bit computers and gaming consoles has fed into an addiction to everything that beeps. Android saved me from the boredom of iOS years ago and I love watching the platform grow. As an avid reader and writer nothing pleases me more than to write about the exciting world of Android, Google and mobile technology as a whole.
