LG Teases X-Men Themed Handsets, Including 2 New Devices

LG Germany has unveiled a series of X-Men themed posters that appear to show the company preparing to release a total of six devices linked with X-Men: Apocalypse characters. We've already seen four of these devices, which start with the LG X cam, which is advertised with Cyclops and carries the tagline "extraordinary vision." The X cam is joined by the X screen, described as "agile and swift" and uses Nightcrawler as the character. Both the X cam and X screen devices were unveiled only a few weeks ago; the X cam has a 5.2-inch, 1080p resolution screen, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of local storage plus a microSD card slot. There's a dual primary camera setup consisting of 13MP and 5MP sensors, plus an 8MP front facing camera. The X screen has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of local storage plus the microSD card slot, a 4.9-inch 720p resolution display complete with an always-on secondary display, a 13MP main camera and 8MP front facing unit.

The next two devices are the LG X power, advertised with Professor X and his "long lasting power." Jennifer Lawrence's character, Mystique, advertises the LG X style's "fabulously flawless looks." These two devices were revealed this week in the Ukraine and are lower to mid-range devices. Neither device has a dazzling display, with the LG X power boasting a 5.3-inch, 720p resolution display panel, a quad core MediaTek System-on-Chip with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of local storage, which is also supplemented by a microSD card slot. There's a 13MP main camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. However, the X power comes with a 4,100 mAh rechargeable battery, which when combined with the low end specification should give the device solid battery life. The LG X style has a similar resolution, but slightly smaller 5.0-inch screen, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of local storage plus the microSD card slot. The X Style is based around the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset and comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera.

The final two devices, the LG X max and LG X mach, have not yet been unveiled. The LG X max is described as the "big beauty" so this is probably a phablet-sized device, whereas the X mach has "extreme super speed." Presumably LG will be providing the X mach with a higher performance processor - but unfortunately there are no more details other than the hints LG has dropped today! However, as and when the devices arrive, they are likely to include some special X-Men wallpapers and perhaps the user interface. We may also see other X-Men accessories included in the boxes, or perhaps tickets to see X-Men: Apocalypse at the cinema?
