Google Play Compiles 'Best of 2016 So Far' Lists

With the weekend pretty much here, you might be thinking about what you plan to do over the weekend and it could quite likely involve Google Play. For instance, if you watch a movie or two, download a new album to listen to or binge on the latest available season of Walking Dead or Game of Thrones. Whatever it is you plan to do, if Google Play is somehow involved then you might want to check out the ‘Best of 2016’ lists that Google Play has now put together.

Granted it is currently only half way through the year but that is exactly what Google Play is focusing on. While these are best of 2016 lists, they are the 'best of 2016 so far' and are based on arrivals between Jan 1 and June 1. As a result, if you are after new music, then you can check out the 'Most-Streamed Songs of 2016 So Far', the 'Top Singles of 2016 So Far' or the 'Top Albums of 2016 So Far' which includes the likes of Views by Drake and Islah by Kevin Gates. Alternatively, if you are after some good reading material then there is 'Most-Read News of 2016 So Far' and the 'Top Books of 2016 So Far' which includes the likes of One with You and The Bands of Mourning. For those after video content, then you have the choice of 'Top TV of 2016 So Far' and of course, 'Top Movies of 2016 So Far'.

In addition to the actual lists, it seems as though some Google Play customers are receiving emails with various discounts related to one of the sections. So for instance (and as you can see in the image below), one of those discounts is a $5 discount on a movie purchase. This particular promotion runs from today and through until the end of the month (July 31) and allows you to take a straight $5 off the cost of any purchased movie, including the 'Top 10 Movies of 2016 So Far' titles like Deadpool and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. So it is worth checking your email to see if you have any discounts being offered as part of the current Google Play Best of 2016 So Far promotion.
