Europe And India May Soon Get Budget-Friendly Honor 5C

As far as budget-friendly phones go, Honor is definitely doing something right. Packing in features found on modern high-end devices, yet selling them only for a fraction of the price. Honor's latest offering, the Honor 5C, may be heading to some new regions very soon. The official Twitter account for both Europe and India are tweeting about a device that's "coming soon", while an online only event is scheduled for the 20th of June over on Facebook. The reason for the event is more-than-likely to introduce an already released phone into new regions—in this case Europe and India. The India account mentioned that details on the device they teased would be coming on June 22nd.

Packing in a 5.2-inch Full HD display, the powerful Kirin octa-core 650 processor, a Mali-T830 GPU, and 2GB of RAM, the entry-level Honor 5C offers up great performance for a great price. Throw in a few "premium features" such as a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and dual-SIM support, as well as a pretty hefty 3,000 mAh battery and microSD Card support, and the Honor 5C far exceeds in the budget-friendly arena. To top it all off, it also runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. In the camera department, the Honor 5C comes equipped with a 13 MP rear sensor and an 8 MP front-facing sensor. Also included is support for FM radio. The Honor 5C is currently available in three colors: silver, black and gold. The latest region to officially receive the entry-level phone was China, and it launched there with a price of 899 Yuan which is equal to about $139 USD.

Official details should become available on June 20th for Europe, and confirmation for India is all set for June 22nd. Since this is a teaser for a device which is currently unreleased in Europe and India, initial impressions should be reserved until something more official is available. In the meantime, the Honor 5C does stand as a prime example of just how far companies can push their affordability, while maintaining a beefy spec sheet and premium design. Currently there is no official word on if the Honor 5C will come to the U.S. or other international markets.
