Download: June 2016 Nexus Security Update OTA Links

Earlier this week, Google released the June 2016 security update for the supported Nexus devices which includes the Pixel C. Google has been releasing these security updates each month patching a slew of security vulnerabilities (Google also makes the code available to their OEM partners about 30 days ahead of rolling it out to customers). This month there were 21 vulnerabilities fixed. Making it a pretty important security update to install onto your Nexus device. While we did have the factory images for the update earlier this week, flashing them means that you're going to be wiping all of your data on your device. Something that not everyone wants to do. Luckily, the OTA files are now available, and you can simply sideload these onto your Nexus or Pixel C to get the latest security update.

You will need to be on the latest build - before the June 2016 update - for these OTA's to work. It's also worth noting that there is no support for the Nexus 10 now with these security updates. Which also means that all of these devices are remaining on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the June 2016 update (the Nexus 10 would get the update, but stick to Lollipop before being unsupported), and not seeing a new version of Android just yet.

Using the links below, you'll be able to download a small zip file which can be sideloaded in your recovery. Keep in mind that you do need stock recovery - and of course need to be on the latest build prior to this update, which also means no custom ROM. It should only take a few minutes to flash the update onto your Nexus or Pixel C and be on your way. It's definitely a better way of getting the latest security patch from Google than having to flash the entire factory image.
