When Amazon launched the Echo smart home speaker it initially only called out to a smaller group of the consumer market, but now that smart home products have grown with more options, so to has Amazon's range of offerings in smart, Bluetooth-enabled speakers. The Amazon Echo is now joined by options like the Amazon Tap Portable speaker, which normally costs $129.99 at full retail cost, but currently you can pick it up for just $109.99 on sale and save $20. For those who may not want the full-fledged Echo speaker but still want some smart capabilities and functions that the Echo would provide, the Amazon Tap just might be the solution.
The Amazon Tap is powered by Amazon's Alexa software just like the Echo, so it has a collection of different uses from asking Alexa about the news to asking Alexa to play music from a handful of different supported streaming music services like iHeart Radio, Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn, Prime Music, and more. You can also ask the Tap questions and use it to order a pizza from Domino's if you're feeling a little bit hungry, and you can also have it list off the weather report for you if you need to. The Amazon Tap comes with a 9 hour battery life so while it may not be as powerful as the Echo, it's portable and can be taken with you. When it needs to charge you can simply dock it to the charging stand.
