Amazon has long been a maker of Android tablets, and has always sold them fairly cheap. Either right at the cost of making them, or just above it. Meaning that they make little to no profit on them. However, they continue to sell them in the hopes that users will use more of their services and buy more products from their store. Which has worked out fairly well for them in the past few years. Last week, they updated the Fire HD 10 tablet with a metal unibody, and now it's on sale for just $179.
The Amazon Fire HD 10 is a 10-inch tablet that runs on Android, however it is a forked version of Android. Amazon promises around 8 hours of battery life out of this tablet which has a 1.5GHz quad-core processor along with 16GB of storage. This tablet is also available with 32GB or 64GB of storage, if you prefer a bit more internal space. However, remember that the Fire HD 10 does also have a micro SD card slot, allowing you to add in an additional 200GB of space or more.
Amazon is hosting this sale for just a few days, so if you've been looking to get your hands on a new tablet, this is definitely the time to pick one up.
