Xiaomi has released a couple of devices this year, including their Mi 5 flagship which was announced back in February during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. That being said, the Mi 5 has been available out in the market for quite some time now, and is definitely not the last smartphone Xiaomi has announced. The company has actually introduced the Mi Max phablet a week ago, and they have received over 10 million registrations for the first flash sale of this device which will take place tomorrow.
That being said, quite a few people who live outside of China seem to be interested in this smartphone, and you've probably been wondering when will the phone become available outside of China. Well, the Xiaomi Mi Max is now available for international pre-orders thanks to GearBest. Do keep in mind that Xiaomi does not sell this device internationally, and that GearBest is a third-party reseller, but if you're looking to purchase the Mi Max, then this is the way to go. All three versions of the Mi Max are available from GearBest, the Snapdragon 650-powered model will set you back $326, while you'll need to pay $360 for the Snapdragon 652-powered model with 3GB of RAM. The most expensive variant of the device (Snapdragon 652 + 4GB of RAM) costs $500. The first two variants of the device ship with 3GB of RAM (+32GB / 64GB of internal storage), while the most expensive model comes with 4GB of RAM (+128GB of native storage), as already mentioned. Now, these prices are higher than in China, but that was to be expected. For comparison's sake, the three variants cost $230, $261 and $307 in China.
The Xiaomi Mi Max also sports a 6.44-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, and comes with a 4,850mAh non-removable battery. The 16-megapixel PDAF camera is placed on the back of the Mi Max, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Mi Max, and on top of it, you'll find Xiaomi's MIUI 8 OS. The Xiaomi Mi Max measures 173.1 x 88.3 x 7.5mm, while it weighs 203 grams. This handset also comes with two SIM card slots, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The device also sports three capacitive keys below the display, as pretty much every Xiaomi-branded smartphone does (except for the Mi 5).
