OnePlus has introduced three smartphones thus far, the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X. The first two devices are the company's 2014 and 2015 flagships, while the latter one is their mid-range offering. That being said, OnePlus is expected to introduce their third-gen flagship in the coming months, and we've seen quite a few spec rumors when it comes to the company's new device. Well, a new piece of info surfaced quite recently, so let's see what's it about, shall we.
It seems like the company has patented a new charging technology called 'Dash Charge'. Now, the USPTO filing doesn't exactly describe this as 'fast charging', but based on its name, it's kind of easy to guess what we're looking at here. We also don't know if it will be included in the OnePlus 3, but considering the timing of the filing, it is more than likely that will happen. Dash Charge will go head-to-head with Oppo's VOOC, Qualcomm's Quick Charge… and a number of other fast charging solutions out there. We do hope that more details will surface in the coming weeks, it will be interesting to see how fast will Dash Charge actually be.
That being said, the OnePlus 3 rumors just keep on coming. As already mentioned, quite a few spec rumors surfaced already, and the latest one arrived earlier today. According to a leak which surfaced in China, the OnePlus 3 will arrive in two variants, one which will sport 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and the higher end model with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC, and will run Android Marshmallow out of the box with OnePlus' OxygenOS installed on top of it. The pricing of the base model also leaked, and based on that information, it will cost 1,999 Yuan ($310), which means it will be quite affordable, just like its predecessors. That is pretty much it, we're sure that more OnePlus 3 rumors will pop up in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that, we'll let you know if something interesting surfaces.
