LG Stylo 2 Available May 13 At Cricket Wireless

Mother’s Day falls on the 8th of this month in the U.S., and various consumer-focused companies have already started rolling out promos and discounts to make a few extra sales during the period. Not willing to be left behind, Cricket Wireless has now jumped on the Mother’s Day bandwagon, and is offering its subscribers the chance to grab the all-new LG Stylo 2 entry-level smartphone at a price of just $169.99. Unfortunately, the phone will not be available at the carrier until the 13th of this month, so the company is just promoting the launch of the new device on its network by asking users to get their Moms the gift “she wanted but didn’t get”.

According to the press release from Cricket, the device will be available from May 13th at all retail stores nationwide, as well as on the website. The company is highlighting the phone’s long battery life, its large 5.7-inch screen, the built-in stylus and support for its LTE network. Cricket is also offering a $50 bill credit to customers who switch from any network, but the carrier has something special in store for T-Mobile subscribers, who’ll apparently stand to gain an additional $50 bill credit ($100 overall) if they were to port their T-Mobile number over to Cricket. The offer in either case requires customers to choose a qualified plan worth a minimum of $40 per month and will be available only for a limited time, so if you’re one of those who’re looking to switch carriers and get a new affordable handset while at it, you may want to hurry.

Cricket Wireless, of course, is the prepaid brand of AT&T, which means its subscribers will have access to the well-entrenched LTE network of America’s second largest wireless carrier, without having to pay the high monthly charges that come as part of the package while signing-up with major carriers like AT&T and Verizon. Meanwhile, Cricket is not the only telecom service provider in the country that’s invoking Mother’s Day to advance its cause. It was T-Mobile’s turn earlier in the week when the carrier announced that as part of its Mother's Day promo, it will give away a free tablet with select premium smartphones from LG.
