LeEco is an interesting company and one which has had quite a remarkable last couple of years. Last year, the company introduced a number of high-profile smartphones including the Letv Le 1. However, since then the company has changed its identity and as a result did move away from the Letv brand and over to the new LeEco brand. A move which although changed the branding has continued to see the company releasing successors to the previous year’s smartphones, like the recently introduced Le 2 range. Both the Le 1 and 2 range of smartphones also come with a Pro model and here we are taking a quick look at the differences between the two.
In terms of last year’s arrival, the Letv Le 1 Pro, this is a smartphone which boasts a 5.5-inch display and makes use of a 2560 x 1440 resolution. Inside, the Le 1 pro comes equipped with 4GB RAM and is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor. In terms of storage, this is a device which is available as a 64GB internal storage option, altough it does not come with any means to expand. While in terms of cameras, the Le 1 Pro came equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera, as well as a 4-megapixel front-facing option. Additional features on offer include dual-SIM support, 4G support, a 3,000 mAh battery and came running on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) at the time of launch. Although, it is now sold with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box. In terms of network compatibility, the Le 1 Pro is listed to work on 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz and 4G: LTE 1800/2100/2600 MHz.
Taking a quick look at this year’s model however, and the LeEco Le 2 Pro does sport the same sized 5.5-inch display and does once again make use of a QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution. Interestingly, like the Le 1 Pro, the Le 2 Pro also comes sporting 4GB RAM, although this one is sold with 32GB internal storage and again, does not support expansion. However, the processor on this occasion has changed with this year’s Pro model adopting the use of a 64-bit MediaTek Helio X25 deca-core processor. In addition, the cameras have seen a significant boost with this year’s model coming equipped with a 21-megapixel rear camera, which is coupled with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Another notable difference is that the Le 2 Pro includes a fingerprint sensor, While the additional features include a 3,000 mAh battery, dual-SIM support and 4G LTE support. In terms of the network compatibility, the LeEco Le 2 Pro is listed to work on 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz and 4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600 MHz.
So all in all it seems the Le 2 Pro adopts many of the best features of the Le 1 Pro, like the 5.5-inch QHD display and 4GB RAM, but also adds a number of improvements to the likes of the processor, camera abilities and throws in a fingerprint sensor for good measure. Although, it does seem that both phones are good options for their respective prices. In fact, if you are in the market for a new smartphone and do like the sound of the Le 1 Pro, then it is worth knowing that GearBest currently has it on sale as part of a flash sale for only $199.89 for the 64GB model. While for those who prefer the upgraded camera abilities and the inclusion of a fingerprint sensor, the Le 2 Pro is also currently available on sale through GearBest for only $259.89.
