Coolpad is a very well-known brand in China, and they do sell their devices outside of Asia as well. The company has released their entry-level Torino S and Porto S smartphones in Europe back in February, and that's also the last time we've talked about Coolpad's new products. That being said, the company has announced a new device in India earlier today, a new mid-range smartphone which actually sports a really nice set of specs, read on.
The Note 3 Plus is Coolpad's new smartphone for the Indian smartphone market. Now, this smartphone is quite similar to the Coolpad Note 3 which was introduced back in October last year in China. The two devices share most of their specifications, but the Note 3 Plus offers a higher resolution display. Anyhow, the device features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by MediaTek's MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor, along with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture) is available on the back of this smartphone, and a 5-megapixel camera is placed up front. The 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Coolpad's Cool UI 6.1 available on top of Google's operating system. This smartphone comes with two SIM card slots, one of which you can use to expand the device's storage. The fingerprint scanner is also available here, and it is located on the back of the Note 3 Plus. The device measures 151.9 x 77 x 9.3mm, while it weighs 168 grams. This is the third handset in Coolpad's 'Note 3' series of devices, the company has also introduced the Note 3 Lite back in January this year.
"We have set a benchmark in the Indian market with the launch of Coolpad Note 3 and note 3 lite. The devices were top-selling handsets on Amazon.in for several weeks. The newly launched Note 3 Plus is a result of our endeavor to align our products as per customer expectations and make them more apt and exciting at the same time. We aim to empower consumers with technology to get more out of life as we commit to push the frontier of what's possible. The updated version of the Note 3 is being made in partnership with Videocon at their Aurangabad facility and is Coolpad's contribution to "Make in India" initiative," said Syed Tajuddin, the CEO of Coolpad India. For those of you who are interested in purchasing the Coolpad Note 3 Plus, keep in mind that the device will be available in White and Gold color options, and it is priced at Rs. 8,999 ($135) in India. The phone will go on sale starting May 13th, and it will be available exclusively through Amazon India.
