HTC Unveils Boost+ App For All Android 5.0+ Devices

I'm sure you've noticed quite a few HTC 10 leaks / rumors in the last couple of weeks. Well, we won't have to deal with those any longer considering that the company has unveiled their new flagship earlier today. The HTC 10 is pretty much everything we thought it would be, and then some. Now, the device has been announced alongside the 'Ice View' accessory, which is quite a versatile case for the HTC 10, but that's not all, HTC has also decided to roll out an app today, read on.

The company has introduced the 'HTC Boost+' application along with their flagship, which is an app which can be installed on any device running Android Lollipop (or higher), and it comes pre-installed on the HTC 10. The HTC Boost+ is meant to 'optimize, declutter and fortify' your smartphone. There are 6 main options available when you fire up the app, Boost, Game battery booster, Manage apps, Clear junk, Lock apps and Settings. The 'Boost' option will essentially kill the apps which are unnecessary eating RAM on your device, you can pre-select those by the way. The 'Game battery booster' option lets you change the display resolution while you're playing games, in order to save battery life. 'Manage apps' options is self-explanatory, it essentially lets you manage apps, while 'Clear junk' lets you clear files you don't need from your device (cache, temporary files… and so on). There's even a 'Lock apps' option which you can use if you don't want people to snoop around specific apps on your device, and the Settings app lets you access more specific settings when the app in general is concerned.

Keep in mind that the app is still not available in the Google Play Store, but it will be soon, according to the company. Another thing to know here is the fact that not all of these options are available on all devices. The 'Game battery boost' and 'Manage apps' features are available only for HTC-branded smartphones. That is more or less it, if you're interested in trying out this app, be patient, it will be available in the Google Play Store in the coming days.
