Google Chrome Now has 1 Billion Mobile Users

When it comes to services that have a billion users, Google dominates the list. Simply because of how large Android is and a number of their apps are pre-installed on Android devices. Like the Chrome web browser. Chrome is the latest to hit 1 billion users. But this is 1 billion mobile users, which makes it a bit of a bigger deal, actually. We're talking 1 billion users between iOS and Android - although it's easy to argue that more of them are on Android than iOS, again because Chrome is pre-installed on Android.

To celebrate this occasion, Google also unveiled a number of other states about Google Chrome. Including the fact that there are over 771 billion pages loaded each month on Chrome. There are 500 billion characters not typed each month thanks to search autocomplete. There's also 2 million gigabytes less of data used each month, this is due to the data-saving features that Google has put in Chrome. 3.6 billion webpages translated each month, 9.1 billion forms and passwords automatically filled each month, 145 million times that users are protected from malicious pages, and $2.5 million in rewards for security research to keep Chrome users safe.

Google Chrome has a lot of very useful features, in this day and age the data-saving ones are perhaps the most important and useful. Especially with the data caps that many of us have to endure each and every month. Google Chrome recently got updated to version 50, which brings a lot of cool new features and fixes to the web browser.

Way back in 2008, Google unveiled Chrome. In the beginning, it wasn't all that great of a browser. But in the 8 years since then, it has grown to become one of the best web browsers available. Not just on desktop but also on mobile. Google Chrome is available on most platforms, and has the largest market share of its competitors (that includes Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge, Safari and Firefox). Google Chrome is a great web browser to use, and if you aren't using it, go ahead and join the over a billion other users using it right now, it's a quick and free download.
