For those who have yet to get involved with Chromebooks, these are products which are significantly making an impact on almost every part of the laptop and tablet market. Bridging the gap between the two, Chromebooks offer a laptop like experience at extremely affordable prices. While they are a little limited in their capacity (compared to some of the better laptops), they are still a very compelling product. The last month has seen a couple of new Chromebooks being announced and ones which will be hitting virtual store shelves soon enough. However, if you are in the market for a Chromebook right now, then here are out top 10 Chromebook picks for April.

10. Acer Chromebook C740

Starting the countdown this month is the Acer Chromebook C740. This is easily one of the best built Chromebooks available and does instantly feel premium in the hand. Not to mention, this is the first of many Acer Chromebooks to make the top 10 list. As such you do know that you are buying from a strong Chromebook manufacturer. However, for its smaller 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) display, it is one which is priced a little higher than others and this is what stops it reaching a higher spot on the list. That said, you do get some fairly decent specs including 4GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and an Intel Celeron (3205U) dual-core processor. Currently, you are looking at about $265 to pick this one up.

9. Toshiba Chromebook 2

The Toshiba Chromebook 2 has for a very long time now been a popular option for many first-time Chromebook buyers and with good reason – it is a solid performing Chromebook and comes with a nicely sized 13.3-inch (1920 x 1080) display. And all for about $300. Not to mention, the rest of the specs are not too bad either with the Chromebook 2 coming equipped with 4GB RAM, 16GB storage and being powered by an Intel Celeron (N2840) processor

Like the Toshiba Chromebook 2, the HP Chromebook 14 is another extremely popular Chromebook and has remained a solid purchase for a long time now. This is one of the larger Chromebooks available as it comes boasting a 14-inch (1366 x 768) display. RAM and processors do differ depending on which model you prefer, with either 2GB RAM and an Intel Celeron N2840 dual-core processor or 4GB RAM and an Intel Celeron N2940 Quad-core processor. Both come with 16GB storage and right now, both are very well priced. The 2GB model can be picked up for $210 while the 4GB model can be picked up for $260.

7. ASUS Chromebook Flip

Moving on and one of the most recent Chromebooks from ASUS is the affectionately named 'Chromebook Flip'. As the name (and image) suggests, this is one which is a little more versatile than most of the others on this list and can be adapted to be used in multiple forms, including a tablet mode. The specs aren't bad either with the choice of either 2GB or 4GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a Rockchip (RK3288) processor. The only downside really is that it is a small Chromebook thanks to its tablet-sized 10.1-inch display. For those interested, currently the best price is on the 4GB model which will set you back $270.

Next up is another Acer option and this is by far their most affordable Chromebook. This is the Acer Chromebook 11 (CB3-131) and can be picked up for only $179.99. Matching its small price is an equally small 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) display. Likewise, while the internal specs are not anything too grand, they certainly will get you through the usual Chromebook actions thanks to the inclusion of 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and an Intel Celeron (N2840) processor.

Going head-to-head with the Acer Chromebook 11 (CB3-131) is the Lenovo 100s. This Chromebook comes with an identical 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) display, as well as an identical 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. In fact, the processor is also the same thanks to the inclusion of an Intel Celeron (N2840) processor. And so is the retail price with this one also set at $179.99. Although, it does seem to be currently available for $154.99, making it that little bit better of a purchase this month.

4. Samsung Chromebook 3

Thanks to Chromebooks being around for awhile now, most manufacturers are already passed the first and second generation Chromebooks. Samsung is one of them. While the Samsung Chromebook 2 has been a very popular option, Samsung has since (and very quietly) made available the Chromebook 3 and you can buy it right now from Amazon. This updated model comes equipped with the same size 11.6-inch display as its predecessor. Although, the processor has been updated and now comes in the form of an Intel Celeron N3050 processor. What's more is that you can choose between a 2GB or 4GB RAM variant. For the 2GB RAM option, you are looking at a very affordable $179, while the 4GB RAM option will set you back an equally affordable $227.

3. Dell Chromebook 13

The Dell Chromebook 13 is one of the newer high-end Chromebooks to come through. Unlike many of the others, this is one designed to give you the best-in-class build, design and spec choice. Although, it is one which is more towards the laptop market price than the Chromebook market price. However, if you are looking for a more robust and laptop-like Chromebook, then it is worth checking out. The price does ascend based on the specs chosen but the good middle of the road option is the 4GB RAM version. This comes with 16GB storage, an Intel i3 processor and of course, a 13.3-inch (1920 x 1080) display. At present, you can pick this particular model up for about $450.

2. Chromebook Pixel

Google Pixel Chromebook

Welcome to Google's Chromebook Pixel. This is Google's proof of concept Chromebook and as a result, there is very little to complain about. This one comes with the best specs available to Chromebooks including a RAM count which starts at 8GB, along with 32GB storage and (at least) an Intel i5 processor. This is simply, the Chromebook to have. That said, it is also one which comes with a starting price of $999. A price which does elevate the cost above all other Chromebooks and one which unfortunately, stops the Chromebook Pixel being the best Chromebook available. It is just too pricey.

1. Acer Chromebook 15

When it comes to Chromebooks, it does seem like there is always a 'give' somewhere. If it is not the specs, it's the size, or it's the price, or it's something else. For a long time now, the Acer Chromebook 15 has topped our list and it does so for another month and the reason is simply. It is one of the best sized Chromebooks thanks to its 15.6-inch (1920 x 1080) display. It offers the ability to choose the specs you want including combinations of 2GB/4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage. And it does all this while maintaining a very affordable price. In fact, right now you can pick up the 4GB RAM, 16GB model for only $279. When you take all the points of a Chromebook into consideration, it does make the Acer Chromebook 15 the best Chromebook you can buy this month.
