Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge during the company's press conference in Barcelona as part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) last month. These are Samsung's newest flagship offerings which will go on sale on March 11th in a number of regions. That being said, we were waiting for Samsung to announce these two devices in India, which is the second largest smartphone market in the world. Well, it seems like that will happen soon, read on.
It seems like Samsung started sending out invitations for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge launch in India, at least according to Phone Radar (other India-based sites got the invite as well). If you take a look at the provided image, you'll get to see Samsung's alleged New Delhi event invite. As per the invitation, the launch will occur on March 8th, which is in two days (Tuesday), starting at noon. Judging by Samsung's timing, it is possible that the two devices will go on sale in India on March 11th as well, but nothing is confirmed just yet. These two smartphones are, once again, made out of metal and glass, though this time around the 'Edge' variant is somewhat bigger than the regular S7 variant. The Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy S7 Edge ships with a 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED panel. Both devices come with 4GB of RAM, and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 or Samsung's Exynos 7420 SoCs power these two phones. Keep in mind that the processor and internal storage options will vary from region to region, and we're still not sure which variants will be available in India, we'll just have to wait and see what will Samsung announce. The 12-megapixel 'Dual-Pixel' sensor is available on the back of both of these phones, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed here with the company's TouchWiz UI installed on top of Google's OS.
That is more or less it. If you're interested in finding out more about these phones, visit our Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge device pages where you'll find plenty more content. Stay tuned for additional info, we'll let you know as soon as Samsung announces these two phones in India, and will also make sure to share any pre-launch details, if available.
