Rumor: Xiaomi Mi Note 2 To Feature A 'Dual Edge' Display

Samsung stole the spotlight last year when the company introduced their new 'Galaxy S' flagships. That wasn't all that surprising considering the fact that all eyes are on Samsung during these events, but last year the company decided to seriously innovate and introduce the 'Edge' variant of their flagship, a handset which sported curved display on both its left and right side. They've actually introduced the second-gen 'S Edge' smartphone last month, and it's called the Galaxy S7 Edge.

That being said, the Galaxy S7 Edge is considered to be one of the best-designed handsets out there at the moment, and according to a number of reports that we've seen thus far, quite a few China-based OEMs intend on releasing the 'Dual Edge' smartphones. Well, Vivo actually already released such a phone, their newest flagship, the Vivo Xplay 5 sports the 'Dual Edge' display, just like the Galaxy S6 Edge and S7 Edge. Vivo certainly won't be the last, at least according to reports. A recent report claimed that Xiaomi, Meizu and Huawei are actually working on such phones, and Meizu's upcoming PRO 6 already leaked recently, and showed off the 'Dual Edge' display.

Speaking of which, a new Xiaomi-related rumor just popped up, and it claims that the Mi Note 2 will also feature such a display. The recently announced Xiaomi Mi 5 is a nice looking device, no doubt about it, but according to this rumor, the Mi Note 2 will raise the ante for Xiaomi. Now, this rumors does not mention when the device will be announced, nor does it mention any specifics, but judging by the fact 1st-gen Mi Note and Mi Note Pro devices were introduced back in January 2015, we can expect the Mi Note 2 to launch in the coming months. This will be Xiaomi's flagship phablet (or phablets, if they introduce two phones again), and it will probably going to be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC, and you'll also find 3GB / 4GB of RAM on the inside. 5.7-inch QHD display will probably also be a part of this phone, though it is possible Xiaomi might opt to use an even bigger panel, we'll see. Either way, stay tuned, we'll report back soon.
