Huawei was one of the most successful smartphone manufacturing companies last year. They’ve managed to sell 108 million smartphones worldwide, and at the same time became the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Huawei has released quite a few interesting devices last year, and they intend to improve upon that in 2016. The company still didn’t unveil a high-end device this year, but that will all change on April 9, read on
Huawei has recently sent out invitations for their April 9th event in London, and even though the teaser did not mention the name of the device that is going to be announced, the company did throw a dual camera hint in that image. The only Huawei-branded dual camera smartphone that has been leaking recently is the Huawei P9, and the timing fits perfectly. The Huawei P8 line was introduced in April last year (Huawei P9, P9 Lite and P9 Max), and it seems like their successors will follow exactly one year after that. We’ve seen quite a few rumors and leaks when it comes to the Huawei P9, including some real life images which popped up recently. Well, a new set of images has just surfaced, and only confirmed the design of this handset.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see a couple of new Huawei P9 images. As you can see, the dual camera setup is placed in the upper left corner of the phone’s back, and next to it sits the dual-LED flash. The fingerprint scanner is located right below it, and the phone is made out of metal, which is clearly visible. The Type-C USB port is placed on the bottom of the phone, and is flanked by what seem to be dual speakers. Keep in mind that it is possible only one of these two cutouts is the speaker, but chances are we’re looking at a dual set of speakers. The physical power / lock and volume rocker keys are located on the right-hand side of this phone, and it seems like the device will sport a rather thin bezel on the sides.
What about its specs? Well, earlier rumors mentioned that the Huawei P9 will ship with a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage. The device will be fueled by either the Kirin 950 or Kirin 955 SoC, and a 3,000mAh+ battery will be included as well. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will probably ship out fo the box here, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Huawei’s very own EMUI (Emotion UI) skin.
