Huawei has been one of the biggest surprises last year. This is one of China’s largest tech companies, and yet their success in 2015 managed to surprise quite a few people. Huawei managed to become world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer, while they’ve also introduced quite a few interesting devices. Huawei has been one of Google’s Nexus partners last year, and their Mate 8, P8, Honor 5X and Huawei Watch devices have been quite popular as well. Huawei plans to keep growing this year, and the upcoming Huawei P9 handset might help them do just that, read on.
The Huawei P9 will be on of Huawei’s flagship devices this year, this smartphone will probably launch alongside the Huawei P9 Lite and P9 Max really soon. We initially thought that the phone will be introduced on March 9th, but it turned out that won’t happen after all, mainly due to technical difficulties (implementing dual camera setup into the device). We were waiting for some new release date info, and then @evleaks shared a new date yesterday, the tipster said that the phone will launch on April 6th. Well, only a few hours after the tipster said this phone will arrive on April 6th, he quoted another source which said that the phone might land on April 5th. Well, it seems like nothing is set in stone just yet, or at least sources still don’t have the correct information. The Huawei P9 smartphones are almost certainly going to launch in April though, all we need is the exact launch date at this point, and knowing Huawei, we’ll get the right info one or two weeks before the actual launch event, so stay tuned for that.
Now, we’ve seen a number of Huawei P9 leaks thus far, the device leaked in a number of renders, and we do have some spec info as well. The Huawei P9 will be made out of metal, and it will sport a dual camera setup on the back. Some rumors claim that Huawei is trying to implement two 13-megapixel snappers on the back of this phone, but we’re still not sure how accurate that info is. Anyhow, the Huawei P9 is rumored to ship with a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, and rumors say that it will ship in two variants. The standard Huawei P9 variant is expected to ship with the Kirin 950 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. while the higher-end model will sport the Kirin 955 processor 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. Android 6.0 Marshmallow is also expected here, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find HUawei’s Android-based Emotion UI (EMUI).
