HTC is one of those companies that were doing extremely well a couple of years back, and are having issues now. HTC was the third largest smartphone manufacturer once, and they simply can’t catch a break now. They’re not selling enough devices, even though they’ve tried turning things around recently. HTC has released the One A9 and One X9 handsets in order to appeal to consumers, but it seems like that didn’t exactly work, at least judging by HTC’s latest financial results in the mobile department. Anyhow, HTC will introduce their new ‘HTC 10’ flagship soon as well, and while we’re waiting for that to happen, it seems like the company is working on expanding One X9’s availability, read on.

The HTC One X9 is currently available in a number of regions, but India is not one of them. Well, that’s about to change soon, the One X9 listing appeared on HTC India’s website, which suggests the phone will be announced soon enough. We still don’t know when exactly will HTC officially introduce this handset and its availability details, but you can expect this to happen in the coming weeks, maybe even days. Anyhow, the HTC One X9 can be considered to be an upper mid-range offering by the company. This smartphone sports a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. The phone is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 3,000mAh battery is available on the inside and it is not removable. The 13-megapixel OIS snapper is placed on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel camera can be found up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed here, with HTC’s Sense UI available on top of it. The One X9 is also equipped with fast charging, and it sports three capacitive buttons below the display. Its bezels are fairly thin, which certainly makes the phone look quite sleek.

That is more or less it, we don’t have all that much info when it comes to this phone’s availability in India, but you can check out our HTC One X9 hands-on coverage from the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in case you’d like to know more about this phone.
