Crossy Road To Add Disney Characters In Latest Update

If you have played classic games like Frogger, there is a chance you are probably familiar with Crossy Road, the retro hit which plays a lot like Frogger but with quite a few of its own tweaks that make it unique enough to be attention-grabbing even to newcomers of the game type. As an arcade game, it's not too complex but it is fun and can be addictive especially when you're trying to unlock all the special characters of which there are many to choose from. There are also more on the horizon as the latest update to the game is set to add in a handful of new characters to unlock, but not just any characters as these will be some of Disney's most iconic.

The new Disney characters are not part of the original Crossy Road game, rather they are part of their own title called Disney Crossy Road, a special version of the game which may or may not have the original Crossy Road characters along with the Disney favorites. All told there is said to be over 100 characters to unlock for those who value these sorts of achievements, with characters coming from Disney and Pixar franchises which is a whole lot of films.

Since the characters will span Disney's universe, there is a chance that the game could include characters from Star Wars as well as Marvel Comics given that Disney now owns both Marvel and the Star Wars franchises. If characters from either set appear, they will be included along with some of Pixar's most famous as well as Disney classics. So far, the only two characters which have been confirmed are Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, both of which can be seen in the trailers below. Along with the new character set, there will be eight different Walt Disney worlds with which to play in, and each character is said to have their own 8-bit soundtrack which should make unlocking them a little more fun. In addition to this new retro title from Disney and the Crossy Road team, Disney also recently announced Magic Kingdoms, which is now available for download.
