LG's Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE model had been originally planned for a launch late last year, but due to issues with the display on the watch, LG ended up placing a recall on all models and customers were left to wonder whether or not the watch would be available for purchase in the future. As of earlier this week, both Verizon Wireless and AT&T had confirmed that subscribers could now pre-order the watch, with devices shipping as early as April 1st, not too far into the future for interested buyers. Those who are looking to pick it up at Verizon will be looking at $449.99 with a two-year contract, or they can pay $499.99 without the two-year. For AT&T customers, the watch will cost a much lower $199.99 with a two-year agreement, or $359.99 without one. The question is, will you be placing a pre-order for the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition at either carrier?
As an LTE model of the watch, customers will be able to do anything that can be done from any other Android Wear smartwatch, but without having to be connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth or connected to a wireless network, which means the watch is capable of sending and responding to messages, using a plethora of apps, and it can even make and receive calls. Thanks to AT&T's NumberSync technology that's built into their version, any phone calls that go to your phone can also route to the watch automatically.
