Video: iRobot Roomba 980 Unboxing and Setup

iRobot Roomba has become a household name for a reason.  Its robotic vacuums have achieved legendary status as a cleaning partner for your home, helping take the annoyance and stress out of constantly having to clean your floors.  People with children and pets certainly understand this plight more than others, and those with large houses face even more challenges because of the sheer amount of floorspace to cover.  iRobot makes a number of Roombas designed for different types of living quarters, sizes and budgets, and it's likely that there's an option for everyone who wants to shell out the money.

The Roomba 980 is the newest and best that iRobot has to offer, delivering cloud-based connectivity with your smartphone via a built-in WiFi antenna on the vacuum.  The iRobot Home app helps connect to the Roomba 980 and allows you to schedule cleanings, remotely vacuum the house and more.  It's also got a host of new features over previous models including those new types of brushes that were introduced with the 880, helping keep hair and other particles from clogging it, and much more.  Check out what's inside this rather large box in the video below, and how to set the vacuum up from scratch, including downloading the app from the Google Play Store!
