As you probably already know, LeEco has recently announced that they're partnering up with Aston Martin, which surely is an interesting partnership. Well, Acer has just announced that they're partnering up with Victorinox, which is yet another interesting combination. Everyone single one of you have heard about Acer, but you might not be so familiar with Victorinox. This company produces and sells rather unique products all over the world, their portfolio includes swiss army knives, cutlery, watches travel gear, etc. The company is based in Switzerland, and this partnership does come as a bit of a surprise, read on.
The two companies announced a partnership today, and according to Acer's press release the company sent our way, they will basically aim to introduce wearable technology into Victorinox Swiss Army's portfolio. The first such product is already ready to go, and will be introduced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona which kicks off in a couple of days. The product in question is a smart accessory for Victorinox Swiss Army's I.N.O.X. watch collection. "Our first collaboration with Acer is a wearable device that makes your watch smart, giving it multi-functionality much like our iconic Swiss Army Knife. Our partnership with Acer enables us to introduce a unique solution that combines the best of both worlds – an innovative wearable accessory that adds technology and functionality to an existing I.N.O.X. watch, without compromising its Swiss-made integrity and durability," said Alexander Bennouna, the CEO of Victorinox Swiss Army SA.
Victorinox basically believes that they should combine forces with one of the largest tech companies in the world in order to modernize their products in a way. Consumers require more than just quality these days, so the combination between tech and classic quality and design could be a winning combination for both Victorinox and Acer. As the company says, they just want to add a 'smart touch' to their products in order to make them even better, and it seems like they seem Acer as a perfect company to help them do that.
